About the Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA)

The Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA) is a premier organisation that represents one of the world’s largest aerospace clusters, despite the Midlands not manufacturing aircraft themselves. Instead, the region is a powerhouse in designing and producing the aero engines and sophisticated systems—mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic—that are essential for aircraft functionality. With nearly a quarter of the UK aerospace industry based here, along with substantial contributions to European and global markets, the Midlands is home to over 40,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs dedicated to the aerospace sector, alongside another 20,000 jobs supported by major airports and RAF bases.

The MAA encompasses over 270 member organisations, ranging from global leaders like Rolls-Royce, Collins Aerospace, and Moog Aircraft Group, to dynamic small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the aerospace supply chain. The alliance is committed to fostering growth and competitiveness within the industry, ensuring that the Midlands remains at the forefront of aerospace innovation and excellence.

Our Journey with MAA

TLM Lasers has been a proud member of the MAA for several years. Throughout this period, we have witnessed the substantial benefits that come with being part of such a vibrant and supportive community. Our participation in MAA events, seminars, and workshops has not only expanded our network but has also deepened our understanding of the latest trends and technologies shaping the aerospace industry.
